Embossing Paste

One of Stampin’ UP!’s new product line is Embossing Paste.   I was a little skeptical at first after seeing the many cute designs that other demonstrators and crafters were posting on Pinterest, but the other day I tried it.  Wow!  It brought back many memories of playing in the dirt and adding water to make adobe-like houses for the toy soldiers we were playing with at the time.

However, this paste is a lot easier since the consistency is already made for you.   It comes in a 4 fl oz jar and it is a white.   One thing you must remember is that after you have removed about a half of a teaspoon, you must put the lid back on and tighten it; otherwise, the consistency will start to dry.

Before you get started, you should have a container of warm soapy water large enough to put the decorative mask, knives, and the silicone mat inside after each use.   Each person should start the process from the beginning — do not share the paste.

There are three knives that you purchase to use with the paste.   One knife looks like a regular knife, the second knife has a diamond shape head, and the third knife is a wider than the diamond shaped head.   That is the knife I used.   You should try them all out and see which feels better for you.

I used the Stampin’ UP! Silicone Mat as my pallet.   Added a little of the paste to the mat and then added one drop of Cajun Cruze Ink Refill.   Mixed up the paste and ink until there was no more white showing.   Spread the mixture onto the Decorative Mask.   Once done, I removed the paper and set it aside.   There was enough paste to make two more backgrounds.

While letting those dry, I completed the flowers and die cut the pieces for the bouquet.   There are many greetings in the Beautiful Bouquet Stamp Set that will enhance your card for any occasion.

We Must Thank all the Caregivers

In this day where there are many people suffering from one type of Cancer or another, we must thank all the Caregivers who provide us with hope, courage, and strength to get from minute to minute and day to day.

The marbled effect was created using a baby wipe with 2-3 drops of Perfect Plum Ink Refill on it.   I squeezed the baby wipe into a ball and then flattened it out on a paper towel.   I used the thick whisper white and patted it down on top of the baby wipe.   Let it dry and there you have the marbled effect.

This one is for you!

Opening up Stampin’ UP! Box of Goodies

I did my first Facebook Live Video today opening up my Stampin’ UP! Box of Goodies.   While it was fun, it was also nerve wracking.   I must do more of these to get a lot more comfortable with it.  Check it out and be kind with your comments.   https://www.facebook.com/topsecretstamper/

I am attaching a photo as well.

Eastern Palace Suite

Stampin’ UP! has given all Demonstrators the opportunity to purchase the Eastern Palace Suite products prior to the release of the new Annual Catalog that debuts on 1 June 2017.   I really enjoyed playing with this set in preparation for the Virginia Scrapbooking Retreat in Raleigh, NC during May 4-7, 2017.

To love what we do and share what we love

Stampin’ UP!’s Statement of the Heart states, “To love what we do and share what we love, as we help others enjoy creativity and worthwhile accomplishments… in this we make a difference.”

Creativity is anything that you want it to be.   Everyone has it, you just have to believe in yourself.  We are not all perfect, but that is what is so much fun — most of my cards are a little crooked, but that is just me.   No matter how hard I try to line up my sentiments straight, they always out of alignment.

For those of us that prefer to shop online, the Stampin’ UP! Catalogs are just what you are looking for.  Some people like looking at clothes catalogs, but I have always enjoyed going to a hardware store — I know, Stampin’ UP! is not a hardware store, but it has everything you can imagine inside it.  Why would you want to purchase a “flat” card at the grocery store, the post office, or a box store, when you can make it yourself.   The surprise and delight the recipient will see when they open that envelope.

I love looking through the Stampin’ UP! Annual catalog at all the coordinating products is so exciting.  The color choices are endless — Cardstock, Designer Series Paper (DSP), Ink Pads, Refill Ink Bottles, Ribbons, Markers, Embellishments, and more.   Wait until you see the Stamp Sets, Punches, the Framelits and Thinlits that require the Big Shot to Die Cut all the beautiful shapes.   Even looking at the adhesive will get you excited because there are different types for different projects.

If you have never heard of Stampin’ UP! and would like to receive a copy of the 2016-2017 Annual Catalog, please leave a message with your email address so I can contact you.  This offer is only available within the USA.

Thank you for stopping by.

What’s Next?

You are asking yourself, “What’s Next?” now that Sale-A-Bration ended on March 31, 2017.   I hope you were able to enjoy some of the free products that Stampin’ UP! gave away as part of the “for every $50 spent”. My favorite item was the Designer Series Paper, Inside the Lines.   I never have been good at coloring, but using this paper was a lot of fun with different types of materials – whether it was the Watercolor Pencils or the Blender pens with some Refill Inks.

Some dates for you to remember:

10 April 2017 at 1:00 PM (MT), Demonstrators will be able to share sneak peaks of new 2017-2018 Catalog items they saw at OnStage.

10 April 2017 at 1:00 PM (MT), The 2017-2018 Annual Catalog will be posted for Demonstrators ONLY.

10 April 2017 at 1:00 PM (MT), Stampin’ UP! Releases the anticipated Retirement List for Customers and Demonstrators.  I will be posting it to my blog.

10 April 2017 through 31 May 2017 – The Retired products are available WHILE SUPPLIES LAST, so please do not wait until the last day.    Purchasing items off of eBay is not the smart thing to do as the prices are jacked up a lot.

31 May 2017 – Last day to purchase products from the Occasions Catalog and/or the 2016-2017 Annual Catalog as long as the products are still in stock.

1 June 2017 – Annual Catalog goes live to customers.

Hot Air Balloon Ride

The “Lift Me UP” stamp set and coordinating UP & Away Thinlits by Stampin’ UP! brought back fond memories of our First Hot Air Balloon ride in Arizona during a 3-week vacation in 2005.   Ron and I both scratched that off our Bucket List, but to be honest, I would love to go again sometime.

Red at Night, Sailor’s Delight

Red at Night, Sailor’s Delight indicates that the sky has a hue of bright reds beaming across the sky and that good weather will follow.

During sunrise and sunset the sun is low in the sky, and it transmits light through the thickest part of the atmosphere. A red sky suggests an atmosphere loaded with dust and moisture particles. We see the red, because red wavelengths are breaking through the atmosphere.
